ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Monday vowed to take the white-collar cases of mega corruption to their logical end. He presided over a consultative meeting at the NAB’s headquarters where he stated that the menace of corruption has corroded the state like a termite. “It is the first priority to take white collar cases of mega corruption to its logical conclusion,” he asserted. Justice Javed Iqbal also said that the anti-graft watchdog formulated a separate cell to address the problems of business community. He stated that 59 per cent people trust the NAB and quoted these statistics based on a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan. Justice Iqbal further quoted the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) index on corruption, and said that Pakistan has been ranked 107th. “We are formulating effective policies to curb money laundering,” he said, adding that initiatives would be taken on the priority basis to recover the looted wealth which had been transferred through money laundering to foreign banks.
NAB has no relation with any political party

He said that the Bureau is performing it duties according to the law, adding that the investigation officers take the investigations to logical end against corrupt elements on the basis of concrete evidence.
