June 19, 2019
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday has allowed children of former president Asif Ali Zardari to meet him, arrested in mega money laundering case. It is pertinent to mention here that the former president is currently in the NAB’s custody on a 10 days remand in a case related to the fake bank accounts. The plea was moved by former president’s lawyer, Farooq H Naek, in which he requested the anti-graft watchdog body to allow Zardari’s children to meet him. The accountability bureau accepted the request and allowed Zardari’s children to meet him. The bureau arrested the PPP co-chairman from his Islamabad residence after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) turned down his and his sister Faryal Talpur’s plea for extension in their interim bail in the case on June 10. Following the arrest, Zardari was shifted to the NAB Rawalpindi office where doctors had examined him. His medical report was later presented in the court.
Bilawal urges NA speaker to issue production order of Zardari
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised his voice for not issuing the production orders of former president Asif Ali Zardari and other lawmakers.

Addressing on the floor of the house, the PPP chairman demanded National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to issue production order of Zardari so that he can also participate in the parliament proceedings.

Bilawal while urging the NA speaker to issue production orders for Zardari including four MNAs, how can they deprive these areas in the budget session? “What’s going on today, this is humiliating the democracy and National Assembly,” he termed. “Zardari remained President of Pakistan and remained in jail for 11 long years, but no charge against him was proven,” he added. On the other hand, earlier today, Bilawal took his Twitter and appreciated Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for speaking up for democratic constitutional right regardless of political differences. He said that MQM had demanded to issue production order of former president Asif Ali Zardari on the floor of National Assembly on Tuesday. “Innocent until proven guilty is a right not a privilege,” he added.
