ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided not to arrest a politician taking part in the elections before July 25. The decision was made during a meeting of the Executive Board chaired by NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday. As a result, the cases against Khawaja Asif, Rana Afzal and Rana Mashood have been postponed until July 25. Addressing the meeting, NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that the step has no link with politics. He said that they are making indiscriminate efforts for a corruption-free Pakistan. “The NAB does not believe in revengeful activity against anyone. The NAB’s first and last association is with Pakistan and the people,” he said. Meanwhile, the NAB approved an inquiry against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officers in the Billion Tree Project that allegedly caused a loss of Rs 19 billion to the national exchequer. It also approved a reference against the Vehari police officers for allegedly misappropriating funds.
