NAB decides not to challenge acquittal of Maryam Nawaz, Capt (retd) Safdar in Avenfield reference

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided not to challenge the acquittal of Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield reference.

As per details, the NAB accepted the acquittal of both from the Islamabad High Court. Rawalpindi NAB DG Farmanullah approved not to file appeals against acquittal. He also informed to the Prosecution Branch by writing a letter

In the letter, it is written that the NAB will not challenge the acquittal decision of the Islamabad High Court in the Avenfield reference in the Supreme Court.

It is pertinent to mention that the accountability court had sentenced Maryam Nawaz to seven years in prison while Safdar was sentenced to one-year on July 2018.
