NAB decides to close inquiry against PPP’s Ghulam Qadir Palijo

KARACHI (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday has decided to conclude the inquiry against Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Ghulam Qadir Palijo. During the hearing, anti-graft watchdog body failed to prove its allegations against the PPP leader and requested to conclude the case against him in the investigation officer revealed in Sindh High Court (SHC). In a confessional statement by the NAB’s investigation officer before the SHC, he revealed that the anti-graft body has failed to prove its allegations against the PPP leader in a case pertaining to the possession of assets beyond his known source of income. “We have recommended the NAB Head Office for concluding inquiries against Ghulam Qadir Palijo as we have failed to find any proves against him during our inquiry,” the investigation officer further confessed. Giving argument, the lawyer of PPP leader appraised the court that my client is under probe for the past two years but the anti-graft body has failed to prove anything against him. To this, the court has given the deadline to NAB of three days to present final report.
Assets beyond income: NAB summons Khawaja Asif on April 1
Earlier today, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has summoned former minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) stalwart Khawaja Asif in assets beyond income case on April 1.

According to the reports, the anti-graft watchdog body directed Khawaja Asif to appear before the NAB office along with details of his bank accounts and all records.

It was reported that the PML-N leader will be interrogated about his foreign properties. Earlier, NAB Director General Justice (r) Javed Iqbal had approved investigation into corruption charges against Khawaja Asif for causing a loss of Rs3.66 billion to the national exchequer.
