NAB Deputy Chairman Hussain Asghar to head commission probing spending of former govts

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Chairman Hussain Asghar will head a commission probing expenditures of previous governments. Addressing a press conference to inform about the decisions taken during the federal cabinet on Tuesday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said that the country suffered a loss due to expenditures of previous governments. He said that only assets of the rulers continued to increase. “No dam or big project was launched in the country. The commission will know how the debts increased,” he said. The special assistant said that the commission will present its report each month and complete its work within six months. To a question about the return of Ishaq Dar, Shahzad Akbar said that Ishaq Dar will return to the country soon. “After signing the MoU, Ishaq Dar will be presented before a magistrate,” he said. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that national security is attached with the budget and those doing nefarious tasks were giving them the lesson of morality. “The production orders for criminals will not be issued. Criticizing the opposition, she said that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had spent an amount of Rs45 billion on his personal advertisement. She said that the entire family of the former prime minister was surviving on the national exchequer. “No such thing is being done now.” The special assistant said that only Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi would attend the UN Assembly session. “The PM and foreign minister will stay in the house of the Pakistan ambassador to save the money of the nation,” he said.
