ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Rawalpindi filed first reference of 2020 against Musharraf era ‘Saaf Pani Sab Ke Liye’ program. According to the NAB, the accused granted contracts of Rs3.5 billion to fake companies resulting in loss of billions to national exchequer. The companies were given benefit despite of incompetency. The reference also stated that Faisalabad based company was represented as an Italian company and both companies were declared fake by SECP. Number of filtration plants costing Rs4.5 million was increased to 1295 from 329 without prior permission. It is pertinent to mention here that the ‘Saaf Pani Sab Ke Liye’ program was aimed to develop over 6500 water filter plants across the country. Meanwhile, Project Director Sikandar Javed, GM Nespak Jameel Bajwa, former secretary Shahab Anwar, Jahanzeb Khan and Abdul Moeed Farooqi are nominated as accused in the case.
