NAB files reference against 20 accused in Saaf Pani case

LAHORE (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against 20 accused, including Dr Zaheeruddin, in the Saaf Pani case on Monday. The accused face the charge of misappropriating an amount of Rs345 million from the project. The reference comprises of nine volumes having 25-300 pages. According to the reference, the accused caused a loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer by misappropriating the fund. Moreover, the bidding documents were tampered. The money allocated for installation of filtration plants in Bahawalpur region was misappropriated. The accused also face the charge of awarding contracts to their favourite companies for water treatment plants in Hasilpur, Khanpur, Lodhran and Minchanabad.
