LAHORE (92 News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz president Shehbaz Sharif on July 12  in the Lahore Solid Waste Management Company (LWMC) corruption case. The former Punjab chief minister has been summoned by the NAB investigators to submit replies to seven questions regarding LWMC scam. According to information available with Channel 92, Shehbaz Sharif has been asked to explain as why did he give approval to the summary of the establishment of LWMC without seeking advice from the provincial ministries of law and finance? Why the formation of LWMC was necessitated in the presence of existing department of waste management and what was the solid justification to create a parallel set up? The NAB has also questioned as why did Shehbaz Sharif being the chief minister of Punjab award a contract to IS Tech company without completing the bidding process? Sources told Channel 92 that the NAB investigators would also question the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly against other cases including money-laundering and assets beyond known sources of income. Shehbaz is currently facing two corruption references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). One of the two related to the Ashiana Iqbal Housing scheme case wherein he has been accused of misusing his authority to illegally issue directives for cancellation of a contract with regard to the housing project in 2014, causing Rs715m loss to the exchequer. On July 12, the PML-N leader will also be quizzed in cases related to assets beyond means and Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
