NAB, PIA among 116 govt departments granted autonomy

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government has granted autonomy to 116 state departments, including the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Pakistan International Airlines. According to the document, 116 ministries attached to different divisions and ministries have been granted autonomy. During the next fiscal years, funds will not be provided to the departments granted autonomy. The NAB officers are perturbed at the move and have decided to contact the government after a video conference. The autonomous departments will be authorized to recruit and sack the employees. The officers belonging to the autonomous departments have been excluded from reserved quota of flats and plots. Owing to the decision, several officers will be deprived of pension after the retirement.
