NAB prepares first corruption reference against Malik Riaz
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday prepared first corruption reference against Bahria Town owner and business tycoon Malik Riaz in Takht Pari case.
According to the details garnered, the NAB has completed the first reference related to Takht Pari case against Malik Riaz. The reference has been sent to NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal for approval.
The reference alleged that Malik Riaz is accused to construct the phase 7 and 8 on the land of Forest Department in Takht Pari. It was also reported that Malik Riaz has been nominated as accused in the reference.
In the reference, it alleged that the Bahria Town owner constructed phase 7, 8 on the forest land and earned billion rupees from the general public which caused loss of national exchequer.
However, it said that the reference has been sent to the anti-graft watchdog chief for approval. It also said that after the approval of reference against property tycoon, it will be presented in Rawalpindi Accountability court.
On the other hand, before the corruption reference, many cases also have been lodged against Bahria Town owner related to the possession of government land.

Name of Malik Riaz removed from ECL, allowed to leave country
Earlier, the name of Property tycoon Malik Riaz has been removed from exit control list (ECL) and allowed to leave the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that the name of Malik Riaz was put on the ECL in light of a report by the joint investigation team (JIT) probing the money laundering case has reportedly left country.
Malik Riaz booked for transferring state land fraudulently
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) have registered a case against Bahria Town Chief Executive Officer Malik Riaz for constructing a housing society by fraudulently transferring the state land.
The Forestry and Revenue officers have been nominated in the FIR registered on the recommendations of the joint investigation team.
The FIR contains the sections of fraud, change in the state record and criminal negligence. Former secretary to Punjab chief minister GM Sikandar has also been nominated in the FIR.
The case has been registered on the complaint of Technical Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Department Additional Secretary Shahid Rashid Awan.
JIT investigates Bahria Town CEO, gives him questionnaire
The joint investigation team (JIT) interrogated Bahria Town CEO for half an hour and gave him questionnaire.
Malik Riaz has sought time to submit the reply. Upon his arrival, the NAB team served the business tycoon with a pizza.
The four-member JIT headed by ACE Director Arif Rahim interrogated him over 1170 kanals of land owned by the Forest Department.
