NAB prepares reference against Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared the reference against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City case. The NAB investigation team nominated the former interior minister as main accused. According to the reference, the solid evidences are present regarding involvement of Ahsan Iqbal in corruption. It added that the fabricated scope of project was increased which cause of loss in national exchequer. The reference has been sent to the anti-graft body chairman for approval. The NAB also submitted key progress report on the reference in an Islamabad accountability court. During the hearing today, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir asked the NAB prosecutor about the reference against the PML-N leader. The NAB prosecutor sought more time from the court for filing the reference against PML-N stalwart. “The reference against Ahsan Iqbal is under process and we need more time to complete the investigation against PML-N leader,” the investigation officer told court. The court, after accepting NAB request, adjourned the further hearing into case till August 26. The court, while directing the anti-graft watchdog to file the reference till next hearing, has adjourned the proceedings till August 26.
