NAB raids on wheat godown, reveals wheat worth Rs 1.20 billion missing

SUKKUR (92 News) – A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sukkur conducted raids on wheat godown in Kandhkot and Kashmor in Sindh province and found that wheat worth Rs 1.20 billion missing from these godowns. A spokesman of NAB said in a statement said that the mud filled bags were found in the wheat godowns to hide the stealing of wheat. The responsible would be punished, besides recovering the stolen wheat worth Rs 1.20 billion and place the same in the national exchequer, NAB spokesman added. On the other hand, NAB team has also started investigation against provincial food department officials aiming to fix the responsibility of substituting wheat bags with mud filled bags and selling the wheat in the open market.
