NAB references: Court rejects plea of ex-PM’s counsel
December 7, 2017
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court (AC) on Thursday rejected the plea of Ayesha Hamid, the counsel of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, pertaining to objection on the documents submitted by the prosecution witnesses. The accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard the references against Nawaz Sharif and his family members filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in line with the Supreme Court directive in the Panamagate case. The court had earlier reserved verdict on plea filed by the counsel of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif raising objection on the documents submitted by Noreen Shahzad in the court. Ayesha Hamid had objected to the inclusion of Noreen Shahzad in the witness list, saying she was not included in the list of witnesses by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). She said that the documents submitted by Noreen Shahzad cannot be made part of the case. In the previous hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) witness Malik Tayyab Ahmed was testified against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members before an accountability court (AC). Malik Tayyab Ahmed told the court Nawaz Sharif withdrew $2,200 on February 7, 2017, and transferred $600,000 to his Pakistani currency account between March to May 2017.
