July 30, 2019
KARACHI (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has taken notice of the indecent remarks uttered by Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Mustafa Kamal, asking him to tender an apology. According to a declaration issued by the NAB on Tuesday, the NAB has warned the PSP of legal action if he did not seek an apology. It said that the NAB would investigate the huge amount spent during his tenure as the Karachi mayor. “The problems in the city are unchanged despite spending a huge amount,” it added. The declaration stated that the NAB had already filed a reference against Mustafa Kamal. “The indecent remarks against him are an attempt to malign the credibility of the bureau. Mustafa Kamal should spend his energy on defending himself in the accountability court instead of criticizing the NAB officers,” it stated. On Saturday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against Mustafa Kamal in a case of the alleged illegal allotment of 5,500 square metres of land on the sea side. The reference was filed in a Karachi accountability court. According to the reference, Sindh Director General Building Control Authority Iftikhar Kaimani, Fazlur rehman, Mumtaz Haider and Nazir Zardari were also involved in the alleged illegal activity. According to NAB, the land had been leased to shop owners and hawkers in 1980 and then in 2005, the DJ Buildiers acquired the land on a lease. The former city mayor was involved in allowing the construction company to build a skyscraper on the land, NAB has said in the reference.
