Questionnaire sent to Shehbaz Sharif’s wife, two daughters

LAHORE (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday sent a questionnaire to the wife and two daughters of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly by post. The questionnaire contains questions about alleged money laundering and transactions made in banks. On the other hand, the NAB has again summoned Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif. He will be interrogated about assets beyond income and alleged money laundering.
NAB chairman cancels notices issued to Sharif family women
On Monday, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal had cancelled the notices issued to Nusrat Shehbaz, Rabia Imran and Javeria Ali, said a press release issued by the NAB. The notices were cancelled during a visit of the NAB chairman to the Lahore. The NAB chairman was briefed about the cases of assets beyond income and alleged money laundering. He decided to monitor all the cases against the Sharif family. He ordered the NAB officials to issue a questionnaire to the Sharif family women for getting required information. Speaking on the occasion, NAB Chairman Javed Iqbal said that the bureau is strictly following the policy of ‘Accountability for All’, while the NAB has no affiliation with any party. “The NAB is an independent institution and dispenses its duty keeping in view the law and the constitution. All accused are equal before the NAB,” he said. The NAB chairman announced that the mega corruption cases will be taken to logical conclusion on merit. “The NAB has only association with the state of Pakistan,” he reiterated.
NAB summons Shehbaz Sharif’s wife, daughters
On April 13, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summoned the wife and three daughters of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif for investigations into the assets beyond known sources of income case. A notice has been sent to the house of Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter. The NAB had summoned Nusrat Shahbaz on April 17 and daughters on April 18 and 19. On the other hand, the NAB had again summoned Hamza Shehbaz on April 15 and 16. Meanwhile, Marriyum Aurangzeb has accused the NAB of besieging the house of Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter. PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari condemned the ‘NAB raid’ on the house of Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter, saying only the coward trespassed on the house. On the other hand, the NAB has denied the raid and besieging the house of Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter. “The team had gone to deliver the summon notice only,” it added. The NAB spokesman said that certain elements were doing propaganda to defame the NAB.
