NAB summons Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah on Friday

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday (tomorrow). According to the sources, the provincial chief minister has been summoned in a land allotment case. The sources also said that the chief minister would be interrogative about illegal land allotment in Malir riverbed. The NAB has summoned Shah on Friday. Meanwhile, the Sindh CM spokesperson refuted the report for receiving any notice from the NAB. He further said that if they receive any notice…the reply would be submitted as per the law. On the other side, former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has also been summoned by the NAB in the same case. He had secured pre-arrest bail from the Sindh High Court on Dec 24. In the petition, Qaim Ali Shah contended that the Bureau sent him a call-up notice on Dec 18 in connection with a probe into the allotment of land in the Malir riverbed. Refuting allegations of any wrongdoing, he said he had cancelled the allotment of the land. However, former deputy commissioner Qazi Jan Muhammad handed over to the NAB custody till January 14. – Illegal land allotment in Malir riverbed caused Rs15bn loss – The Karachi chapter of the NAB has found that the illegal allotment of 307 acres in the Malir riverbed during 2011-12 for housing societies not only damaged the natural structure but also caused a loss of over Rs15 billion to the national exchequer. He said this was uncovered in an inquiry by the bureau and on its basis NAB’s Karachi chapter had sought the approval from its chairman to launch a proper investigation into the alleged violation of rules and destruction of natural resources which may lead to filing of references against top provincial and local administration officials, including the then chief secretary.
