NAB summons Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah today

KARACHI (92 News) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday. He has been summoned on the report of the joint investigation team probing the fake accounts case. Meanwhile, a 15-member team has reached Karachi. It will give the investigations the final shape after collecting evidences. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had appeared before the Supreme Court-formed joint investigation team (JIT) in Islamabad which was probing the money laundering and fake bank accounts case involving transactions worth billions of rupees. Earlier on March 25, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had appeared before the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) Rawalpindi in connection with the fake bank accounts case. A five-member NAB investigation team interrogated the Sindh chief minister. Irfan Naeem Mangi, who is the head of the joint investigation team, recorded his statement. He was put tough questions regarding the auction of Thatha Sugar Mills and sale of Omni Group at throwaway prices. Talking to the media after appearing before the NAB, the Sindh CM had said that the NAB cases and the JIT report were fake. “We are being subjected to the media trial,” he said. He said that he had assured all-out cooperation in the investigation of the case. Before appearing before the NAB, Murad Ali Shah had held a consultative meeting with party leaders at the Sindh House.The NAB had asked him to make an appearance at the NAB Headquarters on March 26. The FIA investigated more than 30 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested in July 2018 in connection with the probe.
