NAB to move SC against bails of Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has on Thursday decided to challenge the bail of PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Asif in the Supreme Court (SC).

In a statement, the NAB said that appeals would be filed in the Supreme Court against the bail of Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal. It added that NAB had filed a reference against Ahsan Iqbal in the accountability court in Islamabad, which is under hearing.

NAB has decided to file an application for hearing of the case in the Accountability Court Islamabad on a daily basis which will be filed under Section 16A of the NAB Ordinance.

NAB to approach SC over bails granted to PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Asif by high courts. The anti-corruption watchdog body also decided to move to the Supreme Court (SC) for challenging the bail of the Khawaja Asif in assests case.

Last year in February, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had granted bail to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City case.
