NADRA offices reopen across country
May 4, 2020
KARACHI (92 News) – The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) offices reopened across the country on Monday. The NADRA offices have been reopened after the finger prints were not being confirmed under the Ehsas Program. Long queues of people were seen outside the NADRA offices in violation of the ban on social distancing. Citizens have been asked to contact the Helpline at 7000 before visiting the NADRA office. On May 1, the federal government had announced to reopen the offices of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) from May 4. Registration of identity documents will begin at all registration centers and mobile vans. In Ramazanul Mubarak, working hours will be from 10am to 4pm. The employees will wear masks and gloves. The masks were also made mandatory for citizens. Temperature will be checked at the entrance to the offices. The interior ministry had closed down all NADRA and passport offices on March 20 as a part of the measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. It is pertinent to mention here that the authority had also extended the expiry date of all CNICs due to lapse between September 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
