Naik, Bukhari appeared before NAB on behalf of Bilawal, Zardari

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Farooq H Naik and Nayyer Bukhari appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on behalf of former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. It is pertinent to mention here that the NAB had summoned the PPP chairman and co-chairman on December 13. The notice had been sent in pursuance of a case regarding Park Lane Estates (Pvt) Limited, a Karachi-based real estate firm. Bilawal’s name is among the shareholders of the company. Meanwhile, Bilawal and Zardari did not appear before NAB on Thursday and the PPP’s legal team appeared before team of the NAB. A three member team headed by NAB Assistant Director Muhammad Waqar gave a questionnaire to the PPP leaders’ legal team. The legal team explained the reason for not appearing of Zardari and Bilawal before NAB. Speaking to the journalists after meeting, Farooq H Naik declared the cases as political revenge. Naik told media that this matter links to revenue department and NAB was harassing his clients. The lawyers said that he PPP chairman and party co-chairman have no direct link with the matters of Park Lane Company, adding that the issue of limiting the land is still pending. The legal team also mentioned that this case is civil nature and not come under the NAB, adding that the NAB chairman should close this case. The lawyer added that these notices are illegal. Earlier on Wednesday, Zardari and Bilawal in a party meeting had decided not to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
