Name of BISP is not being changed, PTI leader responds Nafeesa Shah

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Nafeesa Shah, State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan on Friday has said that the name of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is not being changed. During the session of National Assembly, Nafeesa Shah asked the government that why they are changing the name of BISP. “Why the government is feeling irritation from the name of Benzir Bhutto,” she also questioned. Speaking to the National Assembly (NA), Ali Muhammad has clarified that BISP is not being renamed. He said the government has started a Comprehensive Ehsaas Program and enhanced its allocations to 190 billion rupees from 100 billion rupees. He said under this initiative several programs are being launched for the poor segments of the society. “Ehsaas Kafalat Programme is under the vision of the prime minister’s Madina state,” he mentioned. Ali Muhammad Khan said the Information Commission has been made functional and it is addressing the appeals received under Right of Access to Information Act 2017. He said since its establishment, the information commission has disposed of more than 100 appeals out of 265 received appeals.
