ISLAMABAD (92 News) –The interior minister on Firday placed the names of seven people, including former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former finance minister Miftah Ismail on the exit control list (ECL) in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) case. The other five people barred from flying abroad are Mubin Saulat, Shahid Islamuddin, Imranul Haq, Uzma Adil Khan, and Aamer Naseem. The names were placed on the request of corruption watchdog body. The ministry has informed the anti-graft body through a letter that the names recommended by the NAB have been put on the ECL. In a letter dated April 9, 2019, the ministry said the decision was taken on the recommendation of the anti-graft watchdog. The letter states that the accused face charges of misuse of authority and causing losses to the national exchequer. “The amount involved in the case is Rs36.969 billion,” states the ministry’s letter. The NAB has been carrying out investigation against Abbasi and Miftah Ismail in LNG case. Khaqan Abbasi has appeared before the NAB several times while Miftah Ismail has managed to secure interim bail.
LNG scandal: Abbasi appears before NAB for brief hearing
A day earlier, Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday in ongoing inquiry of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) contract case. According to the reports, the former prime minister after a hearing of 25 minutes at the NAB bureau office Rawalpindi returned back. The former prime minister disassociated himself from the private airlines. “You have returned earlier (from the NAB hearing) are you happy,” a reporter asked the former prime minister and PML-N leader. “I always remain happy. Are you disappointed?” Abbasi retorted. “Did you answer all questions,” the journalist again asked. “I have answers of all their questions,” the former prime minister replied. “Will the NAB call you again,” a media person further asked from Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. “I will come whenever they call me,” Abbasi replied.
NAB tightens noose against Khaqan Abbasi, asks for record of Air Blue
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has tightened the noose against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and asked to bring the record of his airline.

According to the reports, the corruption watchdog converted its initial inquiry regarding LNG and assets beyond known source of income into a formal investigation.

The anti-graft watchdog also asked Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to submit all record of Air Blue. The NAB initiated investigating the cases related to LNG and assets beyond means against the PML-N leader. NAB Rawalpindi has written a letter to CAA asking to submit the details of Abbasi’s air company. The aviation authority has been asked to submit all record of Air Blue’s income and costs.
LNG case: Khaqan Abbasi given deadline for submitting reply till April 25
April 9, the National Accountability of Bureau (NAB) gave a deadline to former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for submitting his reply in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) corruption scandal till April 25. According to the sources, the key progress developed in the LNG scandal case as the investigation has been entered in the final phase. The sources said that NAB had issued six notices to Abbasi and given him a questionnaire but he hasn’t submitted his answers. He has already asked NAB three times to give him more time. The investigation into the corruption scandal has entered its final stages and NAB Director-General Irfan Mangi has been informed of the recent developments in the case, the officials added.
