Names of Nawaz, Maryam placed on ECL after cabinet approval

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – After the cabinet approval, the names of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz were placed on the exit control list on Tuesday. The step has been taken on the application of the National Accountability Bureau. The Sharif family will spend the Eidul Azha in Adiala Jail after the verdict on petitions seeking suspension of their sentences in the Avenfield reference was postponed until the expiry of the summer vacations. Following the move, a travel ban has been imposed on Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz and they will have to remain in Pakistan even though the court grants them bail in the Avenfield reference. Earlier, the condition of Capt (retd) Safdar once again deteriorated in Adiala Jail. He was shifted to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology with stomachache. The decision on admitting him to hospital will be made after necessary tests. On the other hand, Hanif Abbasi, who is serving jail in the ephedrine case, underwent angiography. His closed arteries were opened during the procedure. Doctors have advised him two-week rest.
