ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The production capacity of Nandipur power project has reduced to 99 percent due to machinery breakdown as the project is being run on gas and diesel. The Nandipur project was inaugurated in 2014 and the government had claimed that the project manufactured with Rs 3158 billion was completed at a record time. However, this project is causing a load over the economy now. The Nandipur project runs on diesel and gas technology but the administration is running it on furnace oil, causing a failure in the machines and so the production capacity of the project has become 0.1% only. According to the latest statistics issued by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), only 5.6 million units of electricity were produced by the project last month whereas if the project was run with complete capacity, it could produce 2.9 billion units of electricity.
