Naqeeb Murder Case: Sindh IG gets more time for Rao Anwar’s arrest

KARACHI (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday gave more time to Sindh Inspector General of Police (IG) AD Khawaja for the arrest of fugitive former Malir Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar in the extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was conducting the hearing of the suo motu case at the Karachi registry. In today’s proceedings, Sindh IG appealed the court for more time to arrest ex-SSP saying footages of Rao Anwar from Islamabad and Karachi airports have been received. The court while giving more time to AD Khawaja directed him to submit report in the top court till March 19. Talking to media outside the court, Sindh IG said that Rao Anwar was doing wrong, adding that he should face the court. On the other hand, talking to media, father of deceased Naqeebullah Mehsud said that the reports of any deal were completely baseless. He said that they will continue to appear before the court until the arrest of the Rao Anwar.
