Naqeebullah murder case: All accused including former SSP Rao Anwar acquitted

KARACHI (92 News) - An anti-terrorism court acquitted all accused, including former SSP Rao Anwaar, in the Naqeebullah murder case on Monday.

The court declared the evidence against all the accused to be insufficient.

On January 14, the court had reserved its verdict after hearing the arguments of the parties. Seven prosecution witnesses had deviated from their statements given to the police.

In January 2018, four people, including Naqeebullah, were killed in a police encounter. The Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice of the incident.
