Naqeebullah murder case: ATC grants bail to main accused Rao Anwaar
July 10, 2018
KARACHI (92 News) – The anti-terrorism court granted bail to former SSP Rao Anwaar, the main accused of the Naqeebullah murder case, on Tuesday. The court ordered Rao Anwaar to submit surety bonds worth Rs one million. The court has sought arguments on the bail plea of former DSP Qamar Ahmed on July 16. Former SSP Rao Anwaar said that the verdict has proved him innocent. “No witness has mentioned me in the case,” he added. He said that an attempt was made to implicate a man in the Murtaza Bhutto case and same was done against me. “I will expose the conspirators at proper time,” he added. Meanwhile, the court issued arrest warrants for over 12 accused, including the fleeing SHO Amanullah Marwat and Shoaib Shooter. On the other hand, Naqeeb’s father and Jirga members announced to move the Sindh High Court against the ATC verdict. The Jirga members have termed the investigation officer’s role shameful. “Rao Anwaar is a brave child of PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari. We will knock at each  door to get justice,” he maintained.
