Nation determined to foil nefarious designs of enemy: Jam Kamal

QUETTA (92 News) – A ceremony to mark the 53rd Defence Day of Pakistan was held in Quetta. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal and Southern Command Commander Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa were the chief guests. The chief minister and the commander laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada, the monument to the martyrs, in Quetta Cantonment. Special prayers were said for the martyrs. Addressing a ceremony on Defence and Martyrs Day on Thursday, Balcohistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal has said that the nation is determined to foiling nefarious designs of the enemy. He said that the sacrifices of their loved ones will never be forgotten. “Citizens will always remember the supreme sacrifice of those who laid down their lives to ensure the integrity of the country. Through these sacrifices, peace has been restored in the country,” he maintained. Later, the chief minister and the commander attended a reception for the martyrs’ families. Lt-Gen Bajwa met the martyrs’ families and listened to their problems. He said the sacrifices by the martyrs were a golden chapter in the history of Pakistan. He said the army had chalked out a comprehensive training programme for police and levies to enable them to combat terrorism and enforce the writ of the government. The chief minister and the Samungli Base Commander attended a Defence Day ceremony at the PAF Base Samungli. The chief minister also inaugurated a weapons exhibition.
