ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has said that the nation will neither forgive nor forget those involved in desecrating monuments of martyrs and harming their dignity, making it clear that such acts will never be tolerated.

Addressing police officers, jawans and relatives of the martyrs of police during his visit to Islamabad Police Lines in connection with Youm-e-Takreem-e-Shuhada-e-Pakistan on Thursday, he said that what happened on May 9 is extremely regrettable and condemnable.

"The Pakistan Army, police, and law enforcement agencies are symbols of the state and a defence line that does not hesitate in rendering any sacrifice for the dignity of the country and nation," he declared.

General Asim Munir conveyed to the families of the martyrs that on this day, the people of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army stand and will continue to stand with the families of the martyrs of all the law enforcement agencies.

Earlier on his arrival at the Police Lines, Inspector General Islamabad Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan welcomed him.

On the other hand, COAS Asim Munir invited the daughter of Sepoy Imran Shaheed to the function at GHQ. A few days ago, the video statement of Sepoy Imran Shaheed's daughter had shocked the nation.

"The Pakistan Army will always stand with you in every difficulty. Our young generation, especially children, are the architects of the country's future. The Pak Army will continue its efforts for the establishment of security for the next generations," he declared.
