ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Assembly on Wednesday unanimously passed a resolution condemning the genocide of and atrocities being committed against Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
As per reports, the resolution was moved by Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer who strongly condemned genocide and called upon the United Nations to intervene to stop human rights violations in Myanmar. The resolution urged the government to raise its voice in support of community of Rohingya Muslims.
The resolution came a day after the Senate passed a similar resolution, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved $5 million aid for Rohingya Muslims along with meeting the UN Head Ban Ki-moon expressing deep concern over the Rohingya killings.
