National Assembly all set to elect new leader of the House tomorrow

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The National Assembly (NA) session to elect new leader of the House will be held tomorrow (Monday) at 2:00 pm.

The Chair announced that nomination papers for the slot of prime minister can be submitted by 14:00 hours today while scrutiny of the papers will also be conducted by 15:00 hours today. He said that election for the office of prime minister will be held on Monday.

Earlier, the no-confidence motion against former prime minister Imran Khan had succeeded with 174 votes. The estranged PTI members had not participated in the voting. PDM chairman Maulana Fazalur Rehman had also reached the House where he had accorded a rousing welcome. Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had thanked all leaders for making the motion successful. "Efforts of millions of Pakistanis have been successful. I salute the unity shown by the opposition leaders," he added.
