National Assembly passes resolution extending Pakistan Army (Amendment) Ordinance 2015

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Assembly passed a resolution extending the Pakistan Army (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 for a further period of 120 days with effect on Monday. The resolution was moved by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. He pointed out that the original resolution was unanimously adopted by the House. Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) opposed the resolution. MQM leaders walked out of the House after exchanging hot words with the Defence Minister. Mutahida Qaumi Movement leader Rasheed Godail said the resolution could not be moved during the budget proceedings. The Speaker of the House said only Question hour and notices were suspended during budget proceedings. The defence minister said all the political parties were united and MQM is opposing the resolution on political basis.
