National Assembly, Senate approve condemnation resolution against Kasur incident

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – After the Senate, the National Assembly also passed a condemnation resolution against the Kasur incident on Monday. The resolution demanded exemplary punishment for the culprits as well as legislation to stop such incidents in future. The resolution was presented by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Pirzada. The resolution said that the parliament expresses concern over the child abuse scandal and strongly condemns it, and expresses sympathy with the victim families. The House asked the Punjab government to ensure the arrest of all culprits and complete investigations on priority basis so that responsible might be awarded exemplary punishment. The resolution reiterated that the House will support the implementation of law pertaining to children’s rights. It said that more legislation will be made in this regard. The Opposition criticized the government and staged a symbolic walkout for not allowing them to talk about the adjournment motion.
