National Assembly will be dissolved on August 9 evening: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the National Assembly will be dissolved in the evening of August 9.

In an interview with the US broadcasting organization on Tuesday, he said that the general elections will be held in November. "The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) can delay the elections by 1-2 months. No one can cross the deadline of 90 days," he added.

Khawaja Asif said that the PTI chairman has the right to appeal. "There will be no resistance if the court orders to release the PTI chairman on bail. He will be released immediately," he maintained.

He said that to the contrary, Nawaz Sharif was not given the right to appeal when he was convicted.
