National Commission for Minorities will be reconstituted: Shibli Faraz

ISLAMABAD  – (92 News) The federal cabinet has approved the reconstitution of the National Commission for Minorities. Briefing the media about the decisions made by the federal cabinet on Tuesday, Information Minister Shibli Faraz said that the forum had talked about easing the lockdown gradually. He said that the prime minister had directed Law Minister Farogh Naseem to introduce reforms in the Criminal Justice System within six months. The minister said that a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) would be held on Wednesday to make the final decision on easing the lockdown. “The cabinet also allowed export of sanitizers made in the country. Asad Umar gave a comprehensive presentation to the cabinet regarding COVID-19 situation in the country,” he said. The minister said that all four chief ministers will attend the meeting to deliberate on the next strategy. Shibli Faraz said that relaxation in lockdown will still require that people take precautions. “The war against corona pandemic can be won only by staying at homes,” he added. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan wants the election process to be transparent and trusted by the people. “To ensure this end, the Law Ministry has been directed to prepare a report on holding the elections with transparency,” he said. Shibli Faraz said that the prime minister had directed the Ministry of Interior to take steps to improve the situation of police stations. He said that he had tested negative for coronavirus. “Prime Minister Imran Khan has freed all departments, including the NAB,” he said.
