National Coordination Committee to decide on lockdown extension today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan will preside over a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) to review the steps taken to control the coronavirus pandemic on Monday. The forum will decide on extension or partial leniency in the lockdown. It is to announce resumption of the flight operation from Karachi. The high-level meeting will also discuss the proposals to open the borders for business purposes. Moreover, it will also make final consultation regarding the opening of the construction sector. The committee is likely to decide providing more relief to the people who are facing hardships due to the lockdown. Meanwhile, the second meeting of the Special Committee of National Assembly for the Affectees of Coronavirus will also be held today with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The meeting will review different reports submitted by sub-committee and concerned departments about arrangements to bring back all Pakistanis stranded abroad, management of quarantine centers at Taftan Border and status of Afghan nationals in the country.
