ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Flood Response Coordination Center (NFRCC) instructed for supply of food grains on fast track for flood victims.

The National Flood Response Coordination Center has taken a major decision regarding the delivery of food and essential food items to the people as a result of the flood disasters. All chief secretaries and federating units participated in the meeting chaired by the deputy chairman and a detailed review of food security was taken.

In the meeting, it was instructed to take steps to supply of food grains, especially tomatoes and onions, on fast track. The forum was told that there is sufficient stock of food grains at present and if timely measures are taken before the cultivation of the next crop, there will be no shortage of food in Pakistan.

The forum directed that a complete road map should be prepared in which not only the supply of wheat, rice, pulses and other essential commodities would be ensured but steps would also be taken to deliver them to the affected areas. Any type of hoarding should be avoided and the provinces were requested to take legal action against all hoarders.
