Nationwide tally of fatalities jumps to 11,886 due to coronavirus

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan has reported 53 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,886 on Friday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,302 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 551,842.

The total count of active cases is 33,184. A total of 37,020 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 507,502 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,122,447 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 249,498 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 159,705 in Punjab, 68,004 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,844 in Balochistan, 41,734 in Islamabad, 9,144 in Azad Kashmir and 4,913 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,840 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,059 in Sindh, 1,941 in KP, 196 in Balochistan, 478 in Islamabad, 270 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
