Nationwide tally of fatalities jumped to 12,708 due to coronavirus

LAHORE (92 News) – Pakistan has recorded 50 more coronavirus-related deaths in past 24 hours as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 12,708 on Wednesday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), with fresh inclusion of the 1,196 infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 574,580.

The total count of active cases is 23,665. In the past 24 hours, as many as 1,964 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,632 patients are still in critical condition.

A total of 38,453 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 538,207 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,790,986 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 256,741 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 168,891 in Punjab, 71,282 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,004 in Balochistan, 43,753 in Islamabad, 9,955 in Azad Kashmir and 4,954 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 5,269 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,301 in Sindh, 2,050 in KP, 199 in Balochistan, 494 in Islamabad, 293 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
