Nationwide tally of fatalities jumped to 12,804 due to coronavirus

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan has reported 32 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 12,804 on Friday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,541 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 577,482.

The total count of active cases is 22,285. In the past 24 hours, as many as 2,505 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,558 patients are still in critical condition.

A total of 41,849 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 542,393 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 8,873,741 samples have been tested thus far.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Most numbers of casualties have been reported in Punjab.

Till now 257,408 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 170,222 in Punjab, 71,728 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,035 in Balochistan, 44,032 in Islamabad, 10,101 in Azad Kashmir and 4,956 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 5,323 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,322 in Sindh, 2,065 in KP, 200 in Balochistan, 496 in Islamabad, 296 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
