Nationwide tally of fatalities jumps to 11,967 due to COVID-19

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Pakistan has reported 53 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 11,967 on Sunday.

According to the latest update released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 1,346 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases has surged to 554,474.

1,346 new infections surfaced after 36,954 samples were tested during this period. The positivity ratio of Covid-19 cases was recorded at 3.64 per cent.

There are a total of 32,265 active cases as 510,242 people have recuperated.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 250,648 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 160,580 in Punjab 68,338 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 41,934 in Islamabad, 18,859 in Balochistan, 9,199 in Azad Kashmir and 4,916 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 4,880 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,087 in Sindh, 1,952 in KP, 478 in Islamabad, 272 in Azad Kashmir, 196 in Balochistan, and 102 in GB.
