KARACHI (92 News) – The Naval Day is being observed with national and traditional enthusiasm across the country on Friday. On the Naval Day, Pakistan Navy will pay homage to heroes of 1965 War when the Navy forces recorded a new history of bravery and professionalism against it’s the stronger enemy. On this occasion, the Pakistan Navy also released promo of its documentary. On September 6, Pakistan Army compelled its enemy to bite the dust in battlefield and on September 7, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) defeated the enemy’s proud. On September 8, apparently Pakistan Navy compelled its enemy to kneel down in the international sea. In 1965, despite having no aircraft carrier, the Pakistan Navy added a new history of bravery and professionalism. Ghazi – Pakistan’s only submarine – lonely prevented Indian fleet "Vikrant" from advancing into the sea towards Pakistan. During the operation “Dwarka”, which still always remunerable for the enemy, a fleet consisting of seven Navy warships destroyed the enemy's radar station and air base. From the Pakistanis side, PNS Babar, Khyber, Badar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Alamgir, Tipu Sultan and Ghazi participated in the war and proved the dominance of the green halal flag, Pakistan, on Indian oceans. On the memorable eve of Naval Day, in his message, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi said Maritime arena is facing numerous challenges including; piracy, illegal trafficking of arms and drugs, human smuggling and the menace of maritime terrorism. “Pakistan Navy has always been at the forefront in ensuring safety and security of international waters either in collaboration with other Navies or through independent initiatives,” he mentioned. The naval chief also termed the development of Gwadar Port and realization of CPEC will enable us to exploit the untapped Blue Economy with huge economic dividends. Commenting on the latest situation on Kashmir Issue, he said Indian attempt to annex Jammu and Kashmir and enforce fascist control over Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) has serious implications on the security of the entire region and the world at large.
