LAHORE (92 News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said on Sunday all out medical facilities have been provided to former premier Nawaz Sharif sincerely. Addressing a press conference alongside Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, he said a meeting was held today to review progress on the directive issued by Prime Minister to Punjab government to provide full medical care to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The information minister said that all the confusion surrounding Nawaz Sharif’s treatment was caused by his insistence on undergoing treatment in London. “Nawaz Sharif has an option of entering into a plea bargain with the National Accountability (NAB) to get out of jail in order to be able to go abroad,” Fawad Chaudhry said that the Sharif family had no trust in the hospitals they had built in Pakistan. He said thorough tests of Nawaz Sharif were held at Punjab Institute of Cardiology on 22nd January. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said best medical care is available for Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan. The minister said a doctor and three technicians were present at Kot Lakhpat Jail round the clock to tend to the former prime minister in any emergency situation. He said the provincial government took extraordinary steps for the treatment of Sharif, adding that it couldn’t do more than whatever it had done so far for him. “The Sharif brothers said there are no adequate healthcare facilities in Pakistan. Isn’t a person who remained Punjab chief minister for 25 years responsible for this,” the minister raised question. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEDRrxLxG3M
Do Nawaz not trust his brother’s constructed hospital: Punjab CM
Responding to the Pakistan Muslim league-N’s (PML-N) criticism on the incumbent government about Nawaz Sharif healthcare facilities, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar asked incarcerated former premier that did he not trust his private hospital as well as his brother’s constructed hospital. The Punjab CM took his twitter and raised some questions. He asked that if the government has not offered him access to hospital and treatment of his choice. “Leader of Opposition Shehbaz Sharif has been saying that the government would be responsible if anything happens to the three-time prime minister. “Didn’t the government offer Nawaz treatment at a place of his choice,” he questioned, in his tweet. “Nawaz Sharif didn’t trust his private hospitals and those his brother had constructed during his stint as Punjab chief minister over the past decade,” he questioned. “Isn’t Nawaz Sharif refusing to go to hospital solely to exert pressure for bail? Do the Sharif Medical City and Ittefaq Hospital provide poor healthcare facilities?” The Punjab chief minister also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his father always got treatment at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital. He further questioned if the Sharif brothers were not able to set up a single health facility over the past 30 years where the elder Sharif could be treated.
