Nawaz leaves office of PM: PML-N spokesman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Nawaz Sharif has on Friday left office of the prime minister. In a statement issued by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesman, Nawaz Sharif has left office of the Prime Minister. The spokesman further said that Nawaz Sharif will exercise all legal remedies. Giving his reaction on the judgment, the PML-N spokesman said despite reservations regarding different phases of the Panama case proceedings, the decision of the apex court will be implemented. The spokesperson pointed out that during the course of the proceedings of the case, new precedence's were set which we have not seen in the history of the country. The spokesperson said all the legal and constitutional options will be exercised regarding our reservations on the judgment. The federal cabinet has also been dissolved following the disqualification of the prime minister. Earlier, the Supreme Court disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from office after a damning corruption probe into his family wealth, cutting short his third stint in power. The apex court dismissed Sharif after an investigative panel alleged his family could not account for its vast wealth. The court also ordered a criminal investigation against the premier and his family. "He is no more eligible to be an honest member of the parliament, and he ceases to be holding the office of prime minister," Judge Ejaz Afzal Khan said in court. Sharif, 67, has always denied any wrongdoing and has dismissed the investigation into him as biased and inaccurate. Sharif's allies have alleged there was a conspiracy to unseat him.
