ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday accused the incumbent government of exacting political revenge. In a first interaction with the journalists since his release from prison last month, Nawaz Sharif expressed reservations over statement by Prime Minister Imran Khan, who had reportedly said he would get some 50 people arrested if he was in charge of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). “Who has given authority to Prime Minister Imran Khan for arresting 50 people,” he asked. The former prime minister said that the country’s stability is being affected due to proceedings aimed at exacting political revenge. He said that he does not know about becoming Fawad Hassan as approver in arrest of Shehbaz. Appreciating his younger brother, he said that Shehbaz Sharif worked day and night worked day and night and served the nation selflessly without caring about his own health. “Such a person is being treated like this,” he lamented. “If it is not political victimization, then what is this all going on,” he asked. He said that If this is accountability then he say sorry for it. He said his nephew Salman Shehbaz has been summoned by the NAB in an assets case , adding that what a bigger joke than this could be? Nawaz Sharif mentioned that all laws, including the accountability law, formed during former military ruler Pervez Musharraf’s regime should be reviewed and abolished. He further said that no one in Pakistan will come out clean if assets cases are instituted against them.
