Nawaz Sharif again unwell in jail, cardiologists denied access: Maryam

LAHORE (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was convicted in the Al-Azizia reference, is again unwell in Kot Lakhpat jail. In a tweet on Friday, Maryam Nawaz said that cardiologists of Mian Nawaz Sharif have been trying to get access to him all day but permission not granted. She said that her father had pain in the arm which is most likely to be angina. “He needs to be examined by the doctors who are privy to his complicated medical history,” she said. Reacting to denial of doctors’ access to Nawaz Sharif, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said that they will get a case registered against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Home secretary and the jail superintendent if anything happened to him. On the other hand, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has expressed concern over Nawaz Sharif being unwell in jail. She said that it is cruelty to deny cardiologists’ access to Nawaz Sharif. “The attitude being adopted towards the person who served the nation is unacceptable, condemnable and shameful,” she said. She demanded that doctors should be given an access to Nawaz Sharif immediately on the basis of his serious condition. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the condition of Nawaz Sharif, who made the country an atomic power, had deteriorated due to the treatment being meted out to him in jail. “Rulers should not test patience of the people,” she added.
