Nawaz Sharif appears before accountability court
October 2, 2017
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has today (Monday) appeared before the accountability court (AC) in three corruption and money laundering cases involving his family’s offshore properties. The accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir will hear three references filed against Sharif family by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The court had summoned Nawaz Sharif’s children Hassan, Hussain, Maryam Nawaz and his son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar on October 2. As the Sharif’s children are busy looking after their mother (Kulsoom Nawaz) they are unlikely to appear in the accountability court tomorrow. The court had already issued bailable warrants for Hassan, Hussain, Maryam, and Safdar. The accountability court may issue non-bailable arrest warrants in tomorrow’s hearing for skipping the proceedings for the third consecutive time. Earlier, the former prime minister had appeared before accountability court. The court had summoned the ex-PM again on Oct 2 for formally indicting him. Nawaz Sharif is likely to leave for London on October 5 to see his wife, Kulsoom Nawaz after she was discharged from a London hospital this week following successful surgeries for treatment of lymph nodes cancer.
