ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Imprisoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has declined to be shifted to hospital from Kot Lakhpat jail on Tuesday. According to the sources, the prime minister had directed to move Nawaz Sharif to the hospital in view of his health condition. It was reported that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed to shift Nawaz Sharif to Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on the direction PM Khan. Meanwhile, the arrangements were completed in the PIC and Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) said that all the facilities will be provided to the patient. However, the sources said that ousted prime minister refused to be shifted to the PIC. The government had earlier finalized arrangements to move Sharif back to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. The team of doctors, comprising Prof Nadeem Hayat, Prof Shahid Hamed, and Prof Khalil, was also on alert to treat the ex-PM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myAisM3453I
PML-N expresses concern over deteriorating health of Sharif
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders have also been expressing concerns over deteriorating health of Sharif. The parliamentary party meeting of PML-N leaders was held in the National Assembly (NA) During the meeting, they expressed concern for not providing medical facilities to Nawaz Sharif and they said condemned the Punjab government’s move which came under the influence of the prime minister. PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the government is playing the politics card on the health of Nawaz Sharif. “If anything happened with the former premier in jail, then the prime minister and other ministers will be liable for this,” he added.
My father’s condition is not good, says Maryam
Earlier today, ex-PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said that her father was suffering from angina and he needed immediate treatment. She tweeted earlier in the day: “It’s a medical fact that every episode of angina worsens the heart disease further & can irreversibly damage the heart. Who will I blame or who will be responsible if anything happens to him God forbid? The callousness, I repeat, is shocking.” She continued, “Imagine the extent of the heartlessness, hostility & political victimisation meted out to MNS by the govt that he is risking his health & life.” On Feb 7, it may be recalled that Nawaz Sharif had also refused to be moved to the PIC for treatment, and insisted to shift him back to the Jail. His request was granted.
