Nawaz Sharif is high-profile patient, says Punjab health minister

LAHORE (92 News) – Following to medical board meeting, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said on Monday that Nawaz Sharif is high-profile patient and the government never decline about treatment of him. Addressing a press conference, the Punjab health minister said that the medical board informed that the health of the former prime minister is not improving. “He has to send abroad for conducting the tests,” she added. “Nawaz’s ailment has been diagnosed. He is a high-risk patient. We have his medical history. Where a patient wants to be treated as per his or her wish. Nawaz’s sugar is not under control, however, medicines including steroids are being given to him,” Dr Rashid said. “Nawaz has recently got bail on medical grounds. He has now appealed to the interior ministry to allow him to leave Pakistan and continue his treatment abroad,” she maintained. She reiterated that Nawaz’s health should not be the center of any politics. The minister said Nawaz Sharif has submitted an application to the Interior Ministry for going abroad for treatment. She also said Interior ministry has also sought a report from medical board, comprising the doctors of Services Hospital, of provincial government. She said medical board has dispatched Nawaz Sharif’s recent medical report to Interior ministry. Dr Yasmin Rashid said the Punjab government had provided best treatment facilities to the PML-N quid. She also rejected rumours about a ‘deal’ that the ailing former prime minister might have struck after the government allowed him to go abroad for treatment. “Nawaz Sharif’s medical board held a meeting last night and has informed that some of Nawaz’s tests are unavailable in Pakistan,” she said. “We have asked the medical board to share details of the tests that are only possible abroad.
